Kathryn S. Alter, M.S., CCC-SLP

Kathy Alter has been a providing speech therapy services in central Virginia since 1978.  She received her Master's degree in Speech Pathology from James Madison University and is licensed by the Virginia Board of Health Professionals.  She maintains her Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, as well as a teaching certificate from the Virginia Department of Education with an endorsement in Communication Disorders. 

             Kathy served as a part-time Clinical Educator in the Communication Sciences and Disorders department at Longwood University.  She was responsible for the supervision of graduate students the Longwood Center for Communication, Literacy and Learning.          

             Kathy has provided services to children, ages 2 to 21 years, in local school systems.  She has also worked with adults in long term care, rehabilitation, and  home health settings.  A particular area of expertise is in administering comprehensive assessments to children.  Kathy enjoys including families in the therapy process.  She is particularly interested in working with children diagnosed with autism, developmental delays, central auditory processing disorders, as well as, apraxia.

JoAnn R. Cullop, M.Ed., CCC-SLP

JoAnn has provided speech/language therapy services to children and adults in a variety of settings since 1982.  She received a Masters degree from the University of Virginia in 1982.  JoAnn is licensed by  the Virginia Board of Health Professionals. She maintains her Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, as well as a teaching certificate from the Virginia Department of Education with an endorsement in Communication Disorders.

             JoAnn has experience working with school-aged children in a variety of public schools settings. She also provided speech-language therapy services to students at the Frankfurt International School and the Department of Defense Dependents Schools in Germany.  Her experiences include working with children who have autism and severe disabilities. She also has many years of experience working with adults in long term care, rehabilitation, and  home health settings. She worked with Early Intervention programs to provide speech and language services to infants.   JoAnn has a special interest in several areas of communication including preschool autism, apraxia and social language skills.

             She attended training in Stanley Greenspan’s DIR/ Floortime Approach in 2007.
JoAnn is trained to implement The Social Butterflies Social Language Programs.
